iPhone XS Just can't get e-mail to push

Hello there. I've tried everything I could think of, and every fix I could google, but I just can't get the regular e-mail app on my new XS to push e-mails.

It'll download messages just fine when I open the app, and my specific notification sound (that I brought with me from my first BlackBerry through a few Androids until now ) plays when they download, but it won't push them.

Any ideas? I just tried logging in and out. I'm running the e-mail address via the Gmail app right now, but it's just not the same without that sound

Is it a gmail address?

if so google has turned off/blocked push for gmail addresses on the native mail app.

On one of the recent iOS updates something was changed to allow Push to work on gmail addresses if the phone was on Wifi but it was still fetch when on mobile data.

Thanks guys. It seems to work, now that I've wasted everyone's time.

We'll see if it keeps working. The ringtone for Facebook Messenger just stopped working, and now seems to be using some system default
