I keep reading about people having buyer's remorse and exchanging (after several days) their iPhone 11 Pro for an iPhone 11 or iPhone Pro Max. What happens to the phones they've returned? Do they become Open Box so they can be purchased for less?

Maybe they become replacement devices. I haven't seen refurbished XS models available, maybe they showed up once the 11s were announced? Only refurbished X is available right now.

The phones that are being returned are marked as open and are sent back to HQ or to the warehouse and then be used as a refurbished or remanufacture it for replacement units for warranty.
