Haven't read about it anywhere, just kind of got a little kick out of discovering something (even if others knew about it):

When you're in Safari full screen, move your cursor to the left-hand edge of the screen. It'll become a resize-cursor. Click and drag right and you can adjust the width of the rendered window (with gray-empty space on the borders).

Not sure why I'd ever really use that, but it's neat nonetheless.
 
Comes in handy with some websites that, because of formatting issues, insist on being on one side of the screen or otherwise not centered.

It's useful for reading text, like articles and whatnot. Really wide lines are harder to read.
