Just installed httpmail for Mail ap and hotmail. Wow. I'm duly impressed. It's almost better than gmail interface. Works like a charm. I'm now completely convinced that moving from Entourage to Mail was a good move. The only issue my wife and I have had is that occasionally we have to mysteriously enter our passwords again, and on one occasion we had to enter her account anew. This may sound like a lot, but it's small potatoes compared to the trouble with Entourage. Ug, felt like we were poolside, so may beacballs of death.

While I'm on the subject of enjoying Apple Products - my Shuffle is amazing, as well. The thing must be nuclear powered. It just seems as though I never have to charge it. It's going on 2 weeks, now, and still glows "green". Sounds great. And, I believe I could fling the thing across the room and it would still work. I've dropped it several times, already, and no problems.

Next, I'm going to try "Bookends". We'll see....

Glad you're having such great experiences! :)

With respect to Mail.app... there is one odd thing it does (I am not sure what the rationale for this is)... often, when there is a server connect failure, it will act as if it is because your password is bad, when nothing of the kind is true. The hallmark is that entering in the password again does nothing for you (the icon next to that account will show broken and it won't get new mail). If you just cancel these password requesters, then when the server is back up, it'll still remember your password and work fine. So just learn to ignore them. It's an oddity, though, admitted.

Thanks for the heads up. I suspected something of the sort, but always just entered the password, again. Will just wait, now.

Fun stuff, really.

I like HTTPMAIL the only thing stoping m from using it is when I delete my emails from mail.app it wont delete them from hotmail aswell. Anyone know a solution?

I don't have that problem - it cleans up my hotmail acct without issue. The only thing I've noticed is that the little spinning deal when you press "get mail" doesn't spin any longer. Makes me think it's not looking. Hopefully you can get things ironed out - it's very nice to have it all automatic.

Unread messages on the server

Hello, I have used hhtpmail plugin since two months. However, I've renctly discovered it leaves all messages as unread on the server :( Does anyone know how to solve the problem?

Thank you, Paolo

If you go into accounts in the prefrences select the httpmail account then go into advanced. Click the drop down menu where it says "don't change anything on the server" and pick the one you want.:D I have it set to synchronize. That way if I need an email somewhere else, and i know its in my inbox at home it will be on the hotmail server. :)
