i dunno if this topic has already been opened here before, but i'm wondering how many of you has seen the macbook pro on tv shows or movies.

i was watching 'an uncovenient truth' last night and i was amazed to see al gore use a 15" macbook pro all throughout the movie. i think it's exactly a powerbook based on the power adapter plugged in to it on one scene.

anyone else notice the mbp on the silver screen? :D

I see powerbooks, macbook pros and macbooks in commercials all the time!! My girlfriend hates it when I point them out and she always asks me "how do you know that's a macbook pro??" AND 24 always has apple notebooks and external monitors!

What's even more interesting, is that the tech people use the Macs (MBPs, due to the iSight cameras)! The dells are left to the other agents! (pay attention to the briefings).

there's one in Epic Movie... used by the villainess

and they're ALL OVER drug commercials! there's 2 i can remember, but i don't know what prescription they were advertising...

the other thing is when like websites are shown in ads, it's almost always in safari

an Apple Bored Members better use a Mac

I notice them on MTV/VH1

I got tired of pointing them out. There are just too many movies. :D

Bones. (TV series)
Shall we dance (not sure of the name).
Justin long's movie.
& so many other ones.

If I am going to make a guess, I would say at least 20 movies I watched in 2006 featured a Mac.

It has and after a day or so they get locked because Macs have become common enough that they are seen in many places, or something like that.

All of the ads for the telephone company in my town have Mac's in their ads. It's kinda weird since my city is one of very few places in Ontario, maybe Canada, that has a private telephone company.

Adverts for SKY Television in the UK end with the pricing info displaying on a macbook pro screen (i could tell by the isight and the latch :D )

isn't it a powerbook she was using? anyway its sad to see her just throw the mac like its worthless:D

Could be. I'm 95% sure it was a MBP though cause I remember the speakers on the sides.

Yeah, seeing her throw it made me sad...but most likely it was a prop cause I'd doubt they would toss a $2k machine like that :D :apple:

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition uses the macbook pro; they just put a blank sticker over the apple logo so they aren't doing free advertising. :D

Jessica Beil used a 12" PB, iTunes and an iPod in the movie Blade 3 or was it Blade trilogy and there were a lot of Cinema HD (Acrylic) displays as well.

Smallville's high school editorial office was composed of iMac G3. Lex even used a Titanium G4 but they've all moved to Dells now. Ugh!. Except Oliver (Green Arrow) who uses MBP.

New movie Mr Brooks by Kevin Costner features a Cinema Display

One Tree Hill: Peyton uses a Cinema HD Display and Lucas's mum Karen used an iBook in lectures

Sex and the City used PowerBook G3s (First time i ever saw a Mac product incidentally)

There are many others...

Off criteria but Richard Dawkins uses a Mac, smartest thing he's done/doing thus far IMHO

It's fairly well known that the majority of computers seen on American TV shows and films are Macs. Most film art departments use Macs and also happen to like how they look on-screen compared to PCs. To pick a few examples, CSI always has Macs in their lab; and in a recent episode of "The Office", at least half the students in the business class Michael spoke at were using Macbook Pros. (The other half were generic PC laptops, possibly Thinkpads or Dells.)
