Went from a regular 12 to a 16 Pro Max. Just received it an hour ago.

Too many changes.

Of course I can Google.. but where's fun in that ?

What are the main practical differences in use / features ? I didn't just skip a generation LOL...

Obviously the much bigger screen and USB-C (finally !), the two main reasons I decided to upgrade this year.

Also the action button - have it set up to take photos but there may be a better use for it ?

Always on display (couldn't care less tbh...)

Better camera ? It's better be better, iPhone 12 camera was a steaming POS in backlit conditions.

AI may or may not be here and may or may not be the next great thing.

What else ?

Camera is definitely better at 48MP vs 12MP for some lenses and the 5x zoom of course. That’s actually zooming compared to 2.5x which is what we basically see at anyway. Can’t comment on backlit picture taking. It is trash on the 12PM for sure.

Video can now handle 4K @ 120FPS and take spatial video.

Dynamic Island is fairly useful but also super obvious.

GPU is quite a bit better and can handle ray tracing.

RAM went from 6GB to 8GB

Cooling should be better as the internal design was changed with heat dissipation in mind. Although not everyone agrees that it works even when tests show it’s several times better.

WiFi 7 is now supported.

Apple Intelligence is supported whenever it actually launches this year (or maybe early next?).

Having the action button on my iPhone 15 Pro. I did use it as a camera button but found it awkward to use and just revert back to a mute button and have never used it for anything else. Just my I put and your mileage will be different

Coming from the 12 to the 16PM should yield very significant battery improvements also.

Go watch a YouTube video. Lots out there with differences between past iPhones and what the new one can do
