One of these days, in a perfect world, iCloud will not only sync your documents that you make in Apple's applications but also sync everything else, i.e. your downloads folder, documents saved in non-Apple programs, etc. Until that world exists, however, I'm looking to try and crate a transparent experience between using my two Macs.
I'm not exactly sure what that would look like, but ideally I would not like to have a bunch of files scattered across both my machines, and possibly identify that's good for one machine and not for the other.
I.e. my iPhoto library of over 60 gigs is probably best kept on the iMac, but maybe I want to keep a smaller subset of photos (i.e. past 6 months) on the RMBP, i.e. when I am traveling and want to load all my photos into iPhoto from my camera.... The question is how to merge those back into the main library at home and keep everything synced.. Probably not easy, but who knows.
Music library - I'm a DJ, I download a lot of music from promoters and other sources, NOT from Apple and the approved iTunes way of doing things. Keeping all this music organized is a chore. One of the big things I'd like is when I download stuff have it available on both machines. I can't use iTunes Match because my DJ programs don't support "cloud storage" at the moment, although I do use iTunes Match for my personal collection for listening at home and work.
Email, calendar, etc.. This one works great.. Thanks iCloud for making that part possible.
Misc downloads/documents/files - This part is not really supported by iCloud, but I'd like them to stay in sync between my machines..
