I've been using the 2nd gen for quite a while and moved onto the 3rd gen a few days ago. I've noticed a few strange things about the 3rd gen and would appreciate some clarification (because I hope it's a setting/I'm wrong).

The home screen/aps screen isn't as bright on the 3rd gen as the 2nd gen. In fact my friend mistook the 2g as the 3g when I had them side by side comparing speeds/brightness. Even from a distance the 2g was noticeably brighter. I tried this at lowest, medium and brightest setting and the colors always seem to pop more on the 2g.

Around campus with my second gen I can receive wifi quite a distance from the buildings (even in the shuttle I can stay on AIM). But this is not so with the 3rd gen.

Thanks to anyone that can clear this up for me!
