Just got a 30 inch cinema display hd from 2004 with scratch and plastic marks on the steel

Did someone know what product use to clean the plastic marks on the steel like you bump a black plastic thing and after there is a big black mark on the steel ?

I guess a soft pencil eraser might do a better and easier job than any liquid+cleaning cloth combination.
