Order online from AT&T will I be able to take it back and get the Iphone 4, it hasn't been 30 days or even 14 days since I got it.

Just talked to an ATT person he told me you can return it within 30 days and pick another phone. so for the iPhone4 you would have to pay 199 or 299 depending on which one you plan to get.
I will do the same I will make a contract now and then returnmy 3Gs to get the iPhone4.
OP might have done what I did. I bought a 3GS yesterday to ensure grandfathering with the unlimited data. I'm gonna return the 3GS and pay a restocking fee but have unlimited data and the fourth gen at the subsidized price. U should be able to return it OP since ur within the 30 days. Just go to the store and pre-order the 4th gen and tell them ur situation. It should all work out.
You have 30 days to take your phone back and exchange it for a different phone. You can do this as many times as you want in the 30 days so don't have too much fun 
Why does it matter? OP bought the 3GS, why do you care what their reasoning was? Damn.
I bet you don't get that next phone at the subsidized price.

Yes got for the unlimited plan and I just spoke to at&t rep who says yes I can get the new iphone and pay what a new customer pays since I have 30 days to bring phone back.
