i got my new macbook on monday.

it had 1 cycle count on the battery .. i charged it to full capacity then let it drain. This brought the count to 2 cycle.

Then i noticed after draining 50% of the battery, the cycle increased to 3. I charged it up again to 100% and today i noticed the count went up again to 4 while the battery was draining.

Does it sound like i have a faulty battery?

I downloaded istats menus and here's what it says about my battery.

really loving the air so far, but i want to make sure there's nothing wrong with it. I'm still within the timeframe of getting an exchange.

It's the 2013 air i bought. 11.6" basic model.

thanks.

Your battery is fine. Read the WHAT IS A CYCLE? section of the following link. Run on battery whenever you need to and plug it in whenever you can. You can plug or unplug any time you need to, regardless of the charged percentage, and you never need to completely drain your battery. Just make sure you don't run on AC power exclusively, as your battery needs to be used regularly to stay healthy.
The link below should answer most, if not all, of your battery/charging questions. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend you take the time to read it.
