so a relative of mine just got a macbook pro (kinda sorta jealous hehe).. but anyway, when i use it in the apple store, i dunno.. it doesn't feel any faster than my ibook g4. NOW HOLD ON... what i mean by that is when i open safari or scroll through images in iphoto.. the performance of the macbook feels the same as my ibook. i take it the performance boost of a macbook pro will come through in tasks such as importing video's in imovie or creating mix downs in garageband.. am i right?

I would think that even in Safari or iPhoto, you would see an improvement when using the MacBook Pro. But as you said, where you will notice a large improvement is when you are doing processing intensive tasks/apps such as working with video, garageband, gaming, etc...

You may very well be the first and only person ever to think that way.

I was at the Apple Store recently and was amazed by even the Mac Mini's tremendous feeling power compared to my 1.8ghz G4.
