Just got a new 2019 MacBook Pro 2019 base model from work. Please forgive the noob questions, but I was wondering:

1. The Mac shipped with Mojave ... I was thinking it'd have Catalina?
2. Full battery charge capacity is 5221 mAh - is this normal? Battery seems to be discharging more quickly than I'd hoped.
3. Where do I see the manufacture date of the battery? Battery came with 4 cycle count - is this normal?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Given the high level of complaints and problems with Catalina, I'd not upgrade

That does seem a little low, get coconut battery and see what that says, and if its significantly under charged, then reach out to apple.

The cycle count is fine, and I believe coconut battery will give you more battery details.

I was just surprised a new MacBook Pro didn't ship with the latest os. Is this usual?

MacBook manufacture date = 2019-09-02

Coconut battery says:
Battery manufacture date = 2019-07-31
Full charge capacity = 5232 mAh
Design Capacity = 5103 mAh

How does this look? Normal or not?

As maflynn suggested -- stick with Mojave for now.
Catalina causing too many problems for too many folks...

Thanks guys ... I will stick with Mojave. Went with Catalina on my older MacBook Air and regretted it.

I’m happy that battery capacity looks normal. I’m assuming it’ll take a few cycles to “settle down”.
