So I've had a 15" MBP 2.16 CD for just about 3 years. Have been wanting to upgrade but honestly not wanting to pay $1999+ for the new unibodies as I didn't feel there was so much new technology in them (waiting for Nehalem mobile, blu-ray, etc.), plus I hate glossy screens.

Then lo and behold I saw a 15" 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo Penryn on the Refurb store for $1349. I took a chance and snagged it, and it just arrived and I must say it looks brand-spankin' new!!! I am so stoked cause this machine offers nearly the same spec as the $1999 uni-body at a fraction of the price. Figure in the cash I'll get for my old MBP and I've spent like nothing for a machine that should easily carry me over until something really revolutionary happens with the laptops.

Just want to share my great experience with the Refurbs for anyone else considering it.

Cheers!

Excellent, for my money I think they look nicer too.

I have an '06 C2D Macbook and I'm looking on the UK refurb for a 15" MBP to tide me over until things like Blu-ray appear.
