It's from my office and my boss is going to let me use it until I finish my assignment here in June 2014. I figure I can use it to read PDF's, browse the internet, listen to music, watch videos, but I'd like to know how I can get the most out of it.

I've downloaded:
4.3.3 ipsw
redsn0w

But should I update it to 5.1.1? I always see people say they regret going from 4.3.3 to 5.1.1.

I wanna test the limitations of it using Cydia apps and see what kind of utility and fun I can get out of it.

Do not upgrade. One person's anecdotal experience does not nullify the legions of people who have experienced super slow iPad 1's on iOS 5

It also depends what kind of apps you want.a lot won't work with Lower than ios 5.

Too bad it's not on 3.2. That would make for a nice collectors piece. Brings me back to the excitement of that chilly April morning. It really was kind of magical when you first started swiping across that massive screen.

You can use it as a classy paperweight.
