Just got my External Monitor for my MBP

I just ordered a Dell S2409W Monitor for my 15.4" 2.2GHZ MBP. Anything I should know before it comes in the mail?

I plan on using this for my college dorm setup. My MBP is not the unibody so will the cables it comes with be ok?

And what is the best mode to use the monitor in? With the laptop closed or side by side, etc?

And finally, does anyone have any pics of their set up with this particular monitor and this MBP with maybe the griffin or mStand?

It may or may not come with a DVI cable, so you may need to buy one. I would recommend using both displays, dual screens are awesome.
