iPod touch Just got my touch from target....

and it doesn't work!!!

I pressed the power button and the screen is blank. So maybe its not charged. Plugged it into a usb port and itunes says the ipod is in recovery mode. It must restore and update. I did all that and then the progress screen went to "1604 error could not restore".

I tried pressing the power button on top and the home button and once in a while a silhouette appears that I can barely see telling me to sync. The backlight never turns on. If you look hard you can see the image.

Now I'm going to reinstal itunes and see what happens....terrbile experience with my first ipod

Take it back to target calmly explain what the problem is in a nice manner and they should replace it then and there. Don't let it put you off iPods, remember the iPod touch is in 1st gen there are bound to be bugs that will be filtered out down generations.

Just got back from target with a week 38 to replace the defective week 39.
It is Macy Gray w/ version 1.1.1 on it.

Kinda funny that I waited 2.5 weeks for damned target.com to send out my stuff and its broken right out of the box.
