iPod touch just got my touch, should i open? i think the serial number is week 37?

i just got my touch from best buy. this was there first shipment in.

im pretty sure my serial number is week 37.

its 1A737

does this mean its a week 37?

should i even bother opening it up?

if u dont have macy on the box, i would return, ask if they have any macy boxes....ask when they get their next shippment
 
i have corrine on the box.

im so mad right now.

were there any people with week 37's that had a good screen?

if i open it up i can still return it though cant I?
 
From Best Buy, you should have no problems returning it.

I would just be really careful with the unit, make sure it doesn't get scratched up, etc. If you see right off the bad that the screen is bad, put it right back in the box.

Personally, I'd just leave it, and wait a couple of days until your BB gets the other units. But who knows, maybe your chances are actually not that bad- I don't know if anyone really knows the percentage of affected units from Week 36 or 37.
 
just return it. It'll be a much more smooth transaction if you dont open it. Plus, you are paying this much money for something, you should really make sure you are getting what you payed for.

i mean i asked the guy if i had screen problems if i could return it and he said "you have 30 days" so i mean i dunno.

i think im just gonnna open it. ahhhh. not sure though.

I bought a week 37 today and it is fine. Live a little. Open it up. Try it out. People around here think than 98% of them are defective. It just seems like it on this forum. I'm sure it's fine.

Open it and test it.

It's a 30 day return policy.

i just returned mine to best buy after having it 6 days. They don't care, they're kids being paid like 9 dollars an hour.

They'll ask if there was anything wrong with it, and say "no, it's just not for me"

just open it, BB will take it back, as long as its in 30 days.
 
so I decided to just to ahead and open it. Its looking great so far. I put some videos up and they played just fine. Hopefully everything from here on out will be good. (BTW I'm typing this on the touch right now. Safari is pretty sweet.
 
If I was you I would take my serial number out of your original post, people can do nasty things with your serial number. you'll notice no one else has posted their full serial number :)
 
I just returned week 37 production model that I purchased from BB 3 days ago. Just like a lot of you, I had a terrible screen. I simply just wanted to switch it but they said that I couldn't simply switch it b/c they couldn't find anything wrong with it.

So I simply asked to get my refund and went to the iPod area and asked one of the employee to let me take a look at the back of the box. Unlike mine, it had Macy's picture on the cover; however, I decided not to take any chance. So I guess I will wait until new shipment comes in.

did they give you a full refund?
 
Yes they did. No restocking fee. For 3 days that I had my iPod, I tried to justify keeping it but black images were unacceptable.
 
Open it up and test it! They have a great return policy that was made JUST for people like you. You want to test it out and make sure you're happy with it (i.e. not defective). They will take it back if it's not working well...you dont even need to give a reason...trust me.
 
like i said in my earlier post everything seems to be great!

im lovin it!

the battery life isnt that great but its alright

quick question....how do you press "enter" in safari on the touch? i cant figure it out. haha

Same, mine arrived today and looks great, although the 37 did make me nervous. Macy Gray box btw, never been so happy to see her before (actually I've never been happy to see her before today).

haha yeah i just figured that out about 10 minutes ago



this iPod is amazing. i am loving it. safari is crashing pretty often though. i hope apple released a software update to fix this.

also how do choose which episodes to sync besides like "5 most watched"
