I bought the 4 at launch and my contract ended in July. My plan the entire time was to unlock the 4 (once out of contract) and buy the 5. Well, I forgot to have AT&T unlock it and having just ordered the 5, I'm now back under contract for 2 yrs. Can I still have the 4 unlocked?

You shouldn't have an issue. The contract is fulfilled for that device so they'll unlock it. However, the iPhone 5 of course would not meet the requirements.

Should be no problem your new contract has not started. It will be processed just before your iPhone 5 ships.

So go here and start the process to get your iPhone 4 unlocked
