I just got the Macbook 13" 2020 Intel. I had to go with Intel because it's for work. I want to put the most stable version of MacOS in it. Should I go for the latest Big Sur or the latest Monterey? I'm asking because a co-worker of mine complained a lot about Monterey.

Regardless of whether it is a MacBook Air or Pro, it should run both equally well. I've got a MacBook Air i3 2020 8GB RAM and Monterey runs just fine. In the end, it may simply depend on what software you are running "for work".

I run Big Sur on Intel MBA 2020 with no issue (never crash or had any stopper issues). The latest update (few days ago) fixes Safari’s favicon. I haven’t tried Monterey or newer but usually they will be slower than the old one.

I think it is fair to say that Big Sur was not a happy macOS (though my iMac survived it). Monterey much better (apart from issues around 12.3 and 12.4). And then Ventura slightly better again.

I want to put the most stable version of MacOS in it.
Most instabilities are due to apps and what you do with them. (opinion not documented fact).
