Just got the New Macbook

These are the specs:

-SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
-2GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x1GB
-320GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
-Backlit Keyboard (English) / User's Guide
Accessory kit
-2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

I am so excited should ship in 2-4 days and get here between Oct. 17-23:apple:

I cant Wait!

and just to clarify, only the 2.4ghz Macbooks come with the backlight keyboard.
 
ME TOO : D but I ordered the $1,299 option CANNOT WAIT MUST TOUCH GLASS TRACKPAD AND SEE SEXINESS OF NEW MACBOOK!

I know i ordered the 2.0 and it also said it had backlit as an option, but there is no no no NO noooo way in hell that both then apple tech specs on the website and in multiple places AND steve in his keynote was wrong?

Honestly, the slide AND steve in his keynote were wrong and there is backlit on the 2.0, there's no way. It's an error when buying it in the Canadian and American stores, the 2.0 does not come with backlit.

SO I GUESS it should come with blacklit keyboard... Since it says so, and if it doesn't you can sue.

So use the GRAB program take a selection out of it and save it just in case.

Why isn't anyone going for the upgrade in RAM? I did.

you're right. I just looked back at the slides from the gizmodo live blog and the 2.0ghz slide does not show the backlit option as it does for when Steve is talking about the 2.4ghz version.

DAMNIT. I just ordered.. and it says I cant cancel. I want to get the 2.4 version now...

i was going to, but i needed to shave the cost somewhere and not upgrading the memory is the route i went. I updated the hard drive because to me that is what i needed more. (i wanted to go with memory and Hard drive update but cost reached $1880 With student discount and by then i might as well as go with the Pro.)

and agian if anyone watched the steve jobs presentation the 2.0ghz model does NOT come with a back light keyboard:apple:

Yea for me I need to run indesign and photoshop at the same time so I thought RAM was more important. I dunno plus if I needed more space I could always go for an external drive, which are getting cheaper and cheaper nowadays, plus the new macbookshave easily removable hard drives don't they?

i know that is the case with the Pro, but i have no idea about the Macbook.

(out for the night, talk to everyone tomorrow!) cant wait to see videos of the unboxing of the new macbooks!
 
I can confirm that Apple probably had a typo in the specs list on the configuration page. the 2.0GHZ Model does NOT have a backlit keyboard. repeat. low end macbook for $1,299 USD does NOT have a backlit illuminated keyboard.
 
Hey, does anyone know when Best Buy will be getting the new MacBook?
I noticed that MacMall and MacConnection are already selling them along with the Apple Store of course but I need to buy mine at Best Buy because I have Best Buy credit card. Does anyone have an idea? Tomorrow? The end of the week?

I can confirm Apple "probably" STILL has the backlit keyboard on the configure page. 12 HOURS after they went on sale.
