Installed the new iwork09, but last night got updates to all of the 08 apps. Am I supposed to trash the 08 apps?
 
That's what I thought, too. But, was wondering why the installer didn't see 08 and remove for me.

Since you paid for '08, I don't think automatic removal would have been appropriate.

I hope that you needed specific features that are in '09, because '09 is generally not otherwise cost-effective for someone who owns '08.
 
when I got iWork '09, I deleted iWork '06... saved me a good 2GB of hard drive space, and that was just Pages and Keynote! it's amazing how much they've shrunken the app sizes... but I do appreciate the installer not deleting the old version... as was mentioned, it was paid for.
