Hope you're ok. No-one can predict the future . Mine are several years old and I just updated (waited as usual to read this and other forums) So far so good. Kinda feel the same as years ago with my 2011 MBP (The AMD GPU issue). Good luck.
Thanks for the replies since the loud POP last week it all seems to be working fine, so hopefully it will continue working because I love it and do not want to look for a replacement.
I had a loud pop first time ever, just now, after 12 months of use, 15.2, it restarted and now plays music fine, but wow, now i am worried this is the begining of something, with no homepod support in the netherlands if it dies...
It seems to be a software issue (IOS 15), but there are some speculations about a beginning hardware failure.
Can you check your Homepod logs (apple analytics), if there is a "panic full" error (I suspect, yes...)?
One of ours has made a pop a couple of times in the past couple of weeks.... I haven't been in the room either time, but it appeared to be one of the original/large ones in hubby's man cave. It still is working... so fingers crossed!
