Hi all, was given a 2007 MacBook Pro 3.1 that need some TLC. Was able to get a clean install of the original OSX and then installed the Snowleopard OS that was with it and then downloaded Mountian Lion. Installed Protools 11 (64 bit) and it works like a charm!! other than a hit and miss optical drive. Got to love it!!!!

Sweet, congrats!

Get a SSD and you're good for another year or two.

I got a free mini a couple of weeks ago, popped in a C2D that I had laying around, flashed it with mini2,1 firmware so that I can install Lion on it natively. Will be some kind of headless little server. Free is nice..
