Just held the new Macbook at the apple store London

I just got hand on one at the store! All the guys were playing with it!!!

Its much lighter than the original, seems to weigh less in the middle, and felt lighter than the air!

The screen has lost the white haziness as someone put it!
Better viewing angles but not 170!

Seems to have a really nice cool color cast, not yellow like the air! Guess what no Lines just beautiful rich colors.

Everybody LOVED it!!!

Kudos to you for being the first to report a hands on. Can't wait to put my dirty hands...hehehe...on it as soon as they arrive here in the Great White North. My bank account is on the alert for a slight dent of a purchase.

Apple's spec sheet has it weighing exactly the same as the Unibody 13" that was released in October '08.

I think the weight is balanced differently! Not so Top heavy!

Maybe we were all over excited, examining it SD card slot and hailing the return of the firewire port


PS I have a macbook air, maybe they are using thiner Aluminum, polycarbonate instead of glass/battery but definitely had a feeling of lightness! in comparison to the older model LOL

Placebo effect. They're all made from the same aluminum, and the Air is lighter. It's just a fact. It felt lighter to you because you wanted it to be perfect. But in actuality, it's almost a full pound heavier than the Air, IIRC.
