I just got done installing a Corsair Force GT 240GB SSD that I purchased from Newegg.com for $309.00.
It took me roughly 1h45min then an additional 10min installing OS X Lion. I used the walkthrough which I found here http://www.btobey.com/learn/imac-ssd-install.php. I also stuck tape to each ribbon/connector so I knew which ones I needed to reinsert, this made life a lot easier.
I did not remove my stock HDD as I wanted to keep it in there for Data. I personally think this process was easier than I anticipated. The hardest part was NOT to get dust on the inside of the screen or LCD which I did not accomplish successfully. I will be removing the screen again to blow it out with compressed air.
Over all, my iMac is so much faster and more responsive and I love it.
