hey i know this is probably somewhere buried within the forums but i couldnt find it so yeah. So is it possible to just jailbreak a first generation iphone when its already activated and not have to re activate?

Yes it is. Just download a program called Pwnage tool 2.1 to jailbreak it and follow the instructions. Also once the iphone is activated you cannot deactivate it so don't worry and if you do reactivate it nothing bad will happen. I've probably jailbreaked my phone about 10 times due to all the firmware updates and sometimes I have chosen to activate it again and it works just fine. Hope this helped.
