Just left a deposit for mine (in Europe)

I've just got back from an Apple retailers in Madrid, where I left a deposit for my iPad 2. They have received so few units (they wouldn't say how many, just that it was blushingly and laughingly few) that there would have been no way I could have got one otherwise. The only number that slipped out was "five." Most units have gone to Apple stores, they said.

I'm only bothering to post this so that others know it isn't "completely impossible" to reserve one, yet to confirm that most stores will obviously be out of stock by 5:15 PM on Friday.

It's still possible I'll be iPad-less by Monday if my screen looks like someone's pissed in it, forcing me to return it. But fingers crossed...

if it's anything like the reserves at Best Buy in the states, get used to not having an iPad..it's been 11 days and mine is still MIA! good luck though
