I was working on my Sawtooth AGP G4 when there was a loud pop.

After the pop the internal speaker would not work.

External speakers work fine, but not the internal speaker.

I've tried to reset the PRAM, but that didn't do anything. In all other respects the computer works.

Any thoughts?

You bridged a connection and the resulting electrical current blew out the internal speaker?

Remove the speaker, note the part number, do an eBay search, buy and replace. I can't imagine these cost very much.

That would be my best guess as well.

I think what I will do is find the volt and amperage requirements, then see if the speaker will click or make noise (after removing it from the computer).

Even if it does click, it would probably be a good idea to replace it.

I have some other items to replace/upgrade, so it's a good excuse to do the work.

Thanks for confirming what I was thinking.
