Just made sparse bundle disk image. already 80 gb used space?

I just made a sparse bundle disk image. format: mac os extended (journaled)
encryption: none. size: custom:300 gb. partitions: single-apple partition map.

After making this I noticed that the used space is already 80gb with no files in it.
also if i add a file it will add to the used space, making it 82gb used space for example.
what is going on?
