Just moved to Bloomfield, NJ...

So I just moved to New Jersey from Michigan a few days ago to try to get my foot in the door in the video production industry. I am still assembling my new demo reel and website. I am living with my pops and my brother for a few months. Normally I wouldn't ask this (kind of awkward), but is there anyone on MR, that lives near Montclair, that would want to hang out and show me around a bit. I am a straight white 18 year old just trying to still have some social life after moving. I expect to make some friends when I get a job soon, but was just looking for a 17-20 year old who wanted to chill, talk mac, play video games, and BS about whatever. This is going out on a long limb, but just wanted to see the response. Why not have a MacRumors party in NYC/ Jersey while we're at it?

It seems to me that there is a small university in Montclair, so you might find some film students there.

There is definitely a lot to see all over the area and there are a few MacRumors members scattered around Jersey. There are two Apple stores that are fairly close, too.

I understand and applaud your stance. But in the spirit of the OP, I think his intentions was to set the record straight, as it were.

I know that myself being a Gay, white, male, and over 40 years old - I have interests that I not might share with a Straight, (insert your ethnic background here), male/female/transgender, under 30 year old.

For myself, if the OP was in DC I would offer my support - but being honest about myself.

Thanks for understanding, yes, I just wanted to make it clear. I will def. be using craigslist and filmstaff.com to try to find work and hopefully make some friends along the way.

Thanks, I am actually hoping to get a job at the new Midtown store. I am going to SoHo tomorrow and Midtown to talk with the managers and let them know I am seriously interested. Well, I better get to sleep, I have to be up in 7 hours! Thanks to all who responded.

Well I sort of did understand what you were trying to do, but have a greater faith in people being more tolerant than you give them credit for. One of my closest English friends is 35 years old, gay or bi, buddhist, vegan Sri Lankan guy who wanted to start an audio porn business. I'm 25 years old, and pretty much the exact opposite.
