I just noticed this on my account. I subscribe to 200 messages a month. It shows I have used 26 of 200. I dont know what the other one is that shows I have used 1 of 147. Odd?

media net handles MMS and oter internet traffic for non smart phones.

I think ATT may set up their systems like Verizon where they have their own verizon net and then the internet.

It appears to be something good in the making.

Just noticed - it doesn't say Text/IM Messaging. It actually says only Messages.

I'd be willing to take this as conformation that the $5/200 messages is going to apply for SMS + MMS.

Two questions for those more familiar with the iPhone and ATT than I...

Do they usually count MMS + SMS as less than 200 or is it 200 MMS + 200 SMS. (I get the later with t-mobile.)

Also, why did* it say IM? Do AIM messages actually count as SMS?

iphone does not have MMs currently. Aim messages count as data on the iphone.

I see you're running 3.0 i'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with it, but i just thought i'd point it out.

My account did this when I first switched to the iPhone 3G from my original iPhone. It stopped after the first billing cycle. They said it was because of the plan change for the 3G

Integrated Messaging

Shown in the Data Summary, usage of a simple messaging package that includes MMS and SMS that is sent and received, both domestic and international. Customers will see their total number of integrated messages sent and received during the current billing cycle. The message details are shown by type.

If you click messaging is comes up explaining that SMS and MMS and in the same bundle.... I don't see why AT&T would charge us more for MMS if it says they are together in your text plan...

Definitely signs of upcoming change. For those unaware, when your account is changing from one set of features/plan to another, it goes through weird visual changes over a few days; they cannot always be deciphered just from looking at them. Once its complete, it will look as it should.

Can't wait to at least test MMS under 3.0. That feature I thought I'd never care about (and still don't) is glaring me in the face every time I launch Messages. :D
