Just ordered 17" -- Have older MBP - how to prepare?

Hello -- I just ordered a new MBP 17". I can't wait. It says "Prepared for shipment". Wonder when I'll get it? I chose the 2 - 3 day shipping option.

Anyway, onto my question: I would like to move all of my programs, settings, etc. from my current MBP (about 2 1/2 years old) to the new one when I get it? Is there any automated procedure to do this? Or, do I have to reinstall everything on the new Mac and set everything up again?

You can connect the 2 computers with Firewire and use Migration Assistant
You will be given the option to do this, and it will walk you through the process
