Got the works:

2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
128GB Solid State Drive

I have no interest in the MBP as a notebook that's over 5 lbs is ridiculous except as a desktop replacement.

This setup should work well...

Congrats on the purchase.

I'm curious as to how much better the SSD will actually be though.

Congrats!

That is going to be an awesome setup. I agree with you about the MacBook Pro. They made it slightly heavier and wider which is lame in my book.

Got all the same except the solid state... didn't really think I needed it. I'm really excited, this is my first Mac :D

Shipping will be a little longer for us since we customized

I just can't tolerate a 5400 RPM HD...maybe if there was a faster HD I would have opted for that. Should be quieter and cooler also. It's expensive but my last notebook was a 3 lb carbon fiber Sony Vaio so this is a bargain in comparison, that thing was expensive.

Right on, right on

Bold move. I'm considering the same.;)

As months pointed out above, guess it will add to the wait a bit...looking out the window at every sound for the delivery truck.

Wonder if the weight difference is noticeable at all.
