It says this on the Apple online UK store
"If you order a Mac from the Apple Online Store during our one-day shopping event, the price displayed during the checkout process and in your Order Confirmation email will include VAT at the current rate of 17.5%. However, since your order will ship on or after Monday December 1, your order will be subject to VAT at the new rate of 15%."

So why have they already debited my card with the 17.5%VAT ?
are they going to refund me the difference later?

The phone line already closed at 8pm.

I am pretty sure they will. Did they charge you for the computer too or just VAT. When I got my MacPro BTO they did not charge my card until the unit shipped. Maybe different outside the US, but I think they will reimburse you the money.

Cool thats good to hear. I will phone them in the morning to make sure they do. They charged me the whole price MBP and VAT at 17.5%. I used a debit card so thats why it probably got charged straight away.
