Just ordered my Mac Pro

hello... :)

I just ordered my new Mac Pro ( 2X2.4, 4GB, 2TB, 512 nvidia) + 30inch apple display + Bose companion 5

cant wait :):):)

I have to sell my imac now :D
 
Congrats on your purchase, I'm thinking about getting the Bose Companion 3 (the silver ones) I don't know if I can justify that amount of money for 2.1 speakers.

Thanks :) i cant wait until it comes , well i was to get the bose com2 too .. but after reading the reviews I decided to go for the 5 , as i went to a shop which has both .. tried it too... well the comp2 is really good good for PC sound, but if u really want the cinema sound i reckon comp5 , well this is my view after trying both ... :) hope that helps .. but as u said its a lot of money for the comp5 ...
 
Congrats countermike, the Pro is a great machine which should give many years of trouble-free use... enjoy .. :)

yer i hope so too , as i have changed form PC to mac like 1 year and its been so good for me , i was like where was I all this time .... ,

i have my imac ..but when i use iMovie and photoshop its a bit slow and need more space, after playing around with a mac pro in the mac shop i was like man this is HELL fast !!! and i made my mind to get one, i heard that there is gonna be a processor update in early next year, but 8 core is more than enough for me .


just a quick questions to all the mac pro owners , what if I need to get additional hardDrive , do i get it form Apple ? or i just buy one form a shop . sorry as I haven't ever upgrade a mac myself. - Thanks

Definitely get the RAM from somewhere else - A lot of us swear by OWC (www.macsales.com), and I've read plenty of posts by international users who still buy from OWC even though they don't live in the US.

As for Hard Drives, don't get those through Apple either - the Mac Pro takes standard SATA hard drives that you can find in any computer store, and likely MUCH cheaper than Apple would sell them for.

I have the Bose Companion 5's too - best speaker setup I've ever owned :) crisp highs, great midrange, smooth and deep lows (not overly bass-heavy)

You'll love it! :)

hey .. thanks for all the help ... wow i cant wait now :) haha

well just to confirm can this hard drive put in the mac pro ?

1000Gb 1Tb Samsung SATA2 32Mb 7200rpm HDD Serial ATA300

as all the hard drives Apple sell is 7200rpm but has /3Gbs

Yups, I always buy OWC, never had any problems. Although you would probably be able to find/order the right type of ram in a local computer store. But for me nothing beats the price of ordering from the US.
 
Are you going to play games like Crysis?
