I had the Galaxy S2 and it was not working well even witg Jellybean update... anyway.. does anyone know if I can still download the Google Map separately as an APP or even buy that thing??? I know Google and Apple are mortal enemies maybe..... I do NOT care about that.. but just want to get things working that is all..anyone knows??

man i hope so. i love the google street view feature on the maps app on my iphone 4. sad to see it go with iOS 6.

Did they?
I thought their actual wording was that they hoped to.
I don't remember any guarantee.
And I'm not alone.

Google quote today:
We believe Google Maps are the most comprehensive, accurate and easy-to-use maps in the world. Our goal is to make Google Maps available to everyone who wants to use it, regardless of device, browser, or operating system.

Sounds like they want it on iOS6 and so do others.

"...except maybe the customers of that company who went to such utter lengths to have our latest flaghip phone banned from stores."

Oh, no question.
But again, our hopes....... Our goals........
Let's hear them come right out and say that they're working on an app.
That quote makes it sound like they're focusing on something web-based.
Which honestly, might be all that they could get away with given Apple's approval process.

Singled handed zooming just came to Google Maps. Have to say, it's pretty awesome.

Double tap then hold the second tap to slide-zoom in/out.
