Just picked up a 3GS and sold my Original iPhone..

So I just sold my buddy my original iPhone. I restored it using iTunes before I sold it to him. He wants to go through at&t month to month without a contract but with a data plan. Is that possible?

Also, when he connects his iPhone to his iTunes, it still thinks it's my phone and so iTunes is not giving him any options to sign up for any plans when it's connected. It just kind of "unlocks" the phone and all he can do right now is surf the web on wifi. What do I do to fully restore his phone so that when he plugs it into his iTunes it thinks it's a brand new iPhone so he can go through the usual plan sign up process?

Plug it into iTunes, and hit restore. When it reboots set it up as a new phone. It won't give you the option to pick a plan, because its still your activated sim card installed on the phone. Your friend will have to go into an AT&T store, and get a new sim card.
