Tariff announcement just hit me and made me trigger. I was planning to purchase it a bit later for my start up... Curious if anyone else made similar decision here?

I had monitored the refurbished store for a MBP in my configuration for a while and finally ordered last week on the day of the announcement expecting more people to rush order and less available offerings.

I just ordered an M4 Max, 1 TB and the 16/40 CPU/GPU memory upgrade. I won't say it was the tariff itself as I was getting ready to order it within the next week or so - but figured I'd just order it now and not worry about what might happen.

I almost always buy from the Apple refurb store. Practically brand new stuff at a discount with new warranties!

It felt like in the very old days it was even cheaper to buy at the refurb store compared to list prices. I seem to remember you would get "configuration extras" like more RAM and such for almost free. At this time I had a store in my country offering almost the same prices for factory new MBPs. But still there was some price advantage and the Apple refurbished store had so many variants, including exactly the BTO one I had looked for, without any wait.
No regrets at all. I would buy there again. It feels like the only difference might be a slightly different packaging, but even this is giving you the "full unboxing experience".

My Apple devices are new enough, so I didn’t buy any. But, I did buy a new Canon lens (made in Taiwan).
As long as you can registered at the Canon website, it is warranted. Would you mind telling me which lens? I didn't pay attention to the RF lenses I bought about a year ago, since I bought the RF 100-500mm L from Amazon, and the RF 15-35 L from B&H (no idea where they were made). I assume that they were made in Taiwan or somewhere else overseas.

Several years ago I bought an 2012 or so iMac from the Apple store, and it was shipped to me from Germany.

RF 35mm Macro 1.8
I bought it new from eBay, though, so I doubt it can have a warranty.
