On the off-chance that you purchased a 2017 MBA, here is what I observed with my recent purchase:
- the original 128GB SSD had ~700 MB/sec writes and ~1400 MB/sec reads.
- after upgrading to a Phison-based 960 GB Micron NVMe SSD the write speed went up to 1400 MB/sec, matching the read speed at 1400 MB/sec.
