Hey Everyone,

I just purchased my first MCB @ Best Buy last week when they had their early bird black friday sales go live temporarily.

This is my first MCB. it is a base model.

I only am going to use it for mostly simple things. But I will eventually be going to use it for Photo Editing etc.

I have heard so many different reviews on it. I want something that will last me years.

13 inch @ $1099.

let me know.

No specs, also the heck is MCB?
I assume MCB is MacBook..

The $1099 one that BB had on sale was the base 13" i5 / 8 / 128

OP, the base is fine for most things but if you are going to be doing heavy image editing then it's probably not a good choice..

I do photo editing and music recording on my 2015, which is slower than the one you’re referring to, and it works great. If it’s just casual personal use I don’t think that’s a big issue.

Be aware that you may need external storage for data, and further external storage for backups.

The first MacBook Pro is usually a mistake. When I bought my first MacBook Pro in November 2011, just six months down the line came a new Retina display. Then, when I jumped on a 2016 MBP, six months down the line came a keyboard revision and processors with a key hardware difference. I'd say, the First MacBook Pro is usually a mistake. :p Just joking, though.

You have purchased a well-supported machine that should last you a good many years. Do not fret over configurations and just enjoy your purchase. It is just hardware that will get outdated some years down the line, first either by your usage or by technologies or possibly both, and you will upgrade anyway. It is a never-ending cycle with technology. So, just get what is enough for your use for the foreseeable future and then forget about it.

Welcome to macOS. While things are not as rock solid as they used to be, they are still very, very good. Enjoy your new operating system and computer.

Thanks for the input Lads ! I am enjoying this machine very much. I thought Apple would loose its touch after Lord Jobs passed away. To my surprise they are still making good products.

apologies for not letting everyone know what the specs are. I was combating BT’s ( Death Stranding ) while typing it out.

My mother still uses a 5 year old model to do here photos and videos. I'm not saying it's a speedy monster, but it works very well.
