Hey everyone,

Well, I am a 20 yr old college student and this past April I spilled beer on my beautiful 17'' PC laptop. I debated buying another PC but ended up looking pretty seriously at the Mac option.

I ended up purchasing the 24'' 3.06gHz, 8800, 2GB RAM, 320 GB HD iMac. I'm very happy as my 4GB RAM sticks have already arrived and my iMac should be coming this week.

I can't wait to plug the sucker in and see what it can do. The music school I attend is Mac based and I love everything about them. It should be phenomenal (as long as I keep it temp. controlled, evidently ;))

Thanks for all your posts on the RAM shtuff, I saved $180 that I instead put into the CPU which I know will be outdated soon, but it's still impressive.

take care fellow Mac's.

Not sure what the temp control problem you refer to is but ... your gonna love it.

Cheers.

It's in regards to a previous thread where some guy had condensation on the inside of his glass on the iMac... i've never seen anything like it, but i'm sure it was a fluke thing and definitely his fault.

I can't wait for the mac to get here!! my printer and iPod just came today.

very nice setup I'm sure you're going to enjoy it :D i'm thinking about this system myself to complement my macbook

Where did you buy ram and save $180? The cheapest I've seen 4GB of PC2-800 is $85.

I was speaking about saving $180 on my subtotal.

Yes, later I spent about $90 to get the 4GB!

its taking FOREVER to get here!!!! It says it'll be delivered on the 28th and I ordered it about 6 days ago.

Mine took pretty much a full week + 1 day to arrive from when I ordered it online. =/ was tough waiting it out

i'm a new switcher too, and so far i love it. but i get a bit bored since I have nothing to "fix" or "improve" on my computer any more =P

Congratulations! I recently bought my first iMac and I love it. Unfortunately I couldn't afford the same spec as you, but I love my 2.4GHz model. It works perfectly. I much prefer mac to windows. Enjoy your new machine.

I bought the computer online on 16 May (friday) and it said it will be delivered on 28 May (next wed)

that seems excessive to me, granted it is in the 'time frame' that they gave me for the delivery date, though it is the last day of expected delivery.
