Ok so I have read some websites that say that both the 2012 model and 2013 model retina 13" MacBook Pro look identical with no physical changes.
So why is Apple advertising it as lighter and thinner?

I'm confused on that!

There are 3 models for the 13" retina macbook pro. late 2012, early 2013, and late 2013… The websites are comparing the late 2012 and early 2013, which are practically identical physically.

The one just released today got a reduction in thickness from 0.75 to 0.71 and a reduction in weight from 3.57 pounds to 3.46 pounds.

It's minimal.
