http://verynicewebsite.net/2014/08/a-tale-of-two-restores/
So I chanced upon this website via Daring Fireball, and on their advice, decided to back up and restore my iPhone 5s via iTunes. Incidentally, my iPhone decided to run amok today. Its battery ran down to about 30% by noon despite my not doing much with it, and the whole device felt hot (implying that some background processes were running, but I couldn't identify them). A hard reset resulted in my screen flickering non-stop (which resulted in another hard reset to get rid of the issue).
It was very odd. Prior to restoring, I had this huge yellow chunk of "others" which easily took up half the bar. After restoring, my free space jumped from 26gb to 32gb, and the yellow bar shrank to a very minuscule portion. I tried searching online, but answers vary widely on what constitutes the "others" portion of my phone.
Anyone has had similar experiences?
Any insight on this issue would be much appreciated.
