Just saw Spiderman 3!

Hey guys its 11:30pm here on the East Coast of Oz.
I just got back from an exclusive Spiderman 3 viewing with the opening
of a new gold lounge cinema on the Gold Coast! I thought i'd come
on here to brag, since it doesnt come out in Oz till the 3rd of May. haha ;):p
 
It doesn't come out anywhere till May... I wonder why they would do a sneak peak in Oz...

Most reviews I've seen on line (from places like Aint It Cool) are saying yes it's good, BUT there is a lot wrong with it, including a certain sequence that sounds awful to me, but I won't describe in case people think it's too big a spoiler.

It was a charity event for the all boys / girls school here on the coast.
Don't ask me how they got to do the event. I was of 80 people that got to
go (thats to my step brothers that go to the school haha).

To be honnest i'm not a massive fan of the "comic book into movie" type.
This was IMO the best one out of the three. They had some great! digital
effects used for the villians. Theres apparently a confirmed 4th movie for 2009.

It's carrying an 86% on RottenTomatoes right now, so I think there's hope. Of course, the numbers will shift a bit as more reviews come in.

The only thing that bugs me is the way that they stuck Sandman in there. The idea of having him be Uncle Ben's killer opens up the whole theme of revenge which will be interesting to see Parker struggle with, but it seems to negate the whole idea of the killer in the first movie. Peter lets the guy go and thus gets even with the dude at the wrestling ring, but his Uncle gets shot because of Peter's attitude. Well, now it looks like Peter's cleared up there.

Oh well. I'm not a comics purist...heck...the only comics I've read I read after I saw Spider-Man...it just seems a little cheap the way they're shoehorning in Sandman. Don't get me wrong...I want Sandman...but the whole "real killer" seems a bit cheap.
Of course, I can't judge until I see the movie, and I'm sure there's a better reason for it.

Can't wait! I might be going to the IMAX with some friends to see it. :cool:

Umm...I just think it'll be another great Spider-Man film with an amazing cast. I've been a fan from the beginning. They took a hugs chance with the young cast and picked well. This group is amazingly talented.

The only thing that I'm apprehensive about is their portrayal of Venom. I remember loving in the comics and cartoon how sinister but almost alittle alluring he/it was. I also remember the symbiant making anyone who uses it a huge muscular freak, so I hope it isn't just like a barely-different black version of the Spiderman outfit with some black goo. I hope they have a big actor or good muscle special effects.
