On top of a mountain
Hi guys,

This weekend, a fellow Apple collector and friend of mine let me have his whole Mac collection. He was getting married and his wife wanted him to get rid of these wonderful pieces of history. Instead of throwing them out like she suggested, he gave them to me.

Now I have scored a collection of 15 old Macs. The ones were:
iMac 17-inch 1Ghz (no power cord but it is on order)
PowerMac G4 400Mhz with an upgraded 80gb HD and 1.192GB of RAM
iMac G3 (original, tray loading ones): One lime, one Tangerine and one Blue one
Macintosh Portable
5xSE/30
Macintosh SE
Macintosh Plus
Macintosh Classic
Macintosh Classic II

What does Macrumors think of my freebie :D

Thanks,
Devix

Nice score! I personally don't care much for the PPCs, but that's a great little collection of 68K goodness.

Get a Localtalk network going and invite people over for some ten player Bolo. :)

OK guys, finally got time for pictures. Sorry.

Took these with a iPhone 4, so don't expect works of art.

This is my general workspace, you can see the iMac G4 and some classic macs in the background. The Dell monitor is the PowerMac G4.

The PowerMac all hooked up.

And of course....

Wow, that's amazing! And I'm really surprised how much excitement that some people have with destroying their older technology. Actually, my friend just got an Apple II for free, and the first thing he did was shoot it (?).

Good score!

Mind you, your friend should have kept his collection, and thrown out the wife! :D

Hmm... that's sad to hear. I got my Apple II for Christmas a couple years back, and fired it up to check that it actually worked (it did). After I had my retro game fix, I put it in my museum room. I agree though, too many people take fun in destroying things. Just check out all the Apple gear getting smashed on YouTube
