So I just set up my new M2 Mini 16/256 using Time Machine. The whole process went very well. I had recently purchased a Samsung T7 1TB SSD for my TM backup. I ran TM on my 2013 iMac 27" for about 2 weeks before getting my Mini today. Once I got through the initial startup routine: language, software upgrade, etc., Migration Assistant recognized my TM backup and the whole move took about 20 minutes. I had about 480 GB on my old iMac.

With a few hiccups ALL my apps seem to be working well. The one app I was concerned about was Quickbooks 2020 Mac Desktop and was relieved to see it open just fine. It found my QB file and all seems to be running well. I am still trying to get my Alfred App to work correctly but I suspect it will be a simple fix.

I am a happy camper.

How long did the migration take with the Samsung T7? I recently returned one as the speeds were very slow for me - especially on write using both USB 3.0 and USB-C.

From start to finish the transfer took about 20 minutes. This is the first SSD (internal and external) drive I have ever used and it was quick.
