Just starting out...

Where did you developers start out? I would like to join this community and get started and would like some direction. I know about the Apple developers site, and I guess what I’m asking is for other resources, or specific points in the Apple developers site I should take special notice of.

I am not a in-depth developer really, but o'Reily makes a load of books that, I am told, are good resources on starting developing for the mac.
