So i just swapped HDD in my SR MBP in my sig and I just noticed i forgot to switch the piece of tape under the HDD. There is like a strip of yellow tape. Does it serve any purpose really? I don't feel like redoing the whole damn process haha.

Was that tape helping you in removing the HDD form the MBP?

Even so, it shouldn't have an essential function for any other HDD besides that.

It wasn't that tape, was it?

it wasnt that tape. that stuff i made sure is in place.

its actually on the underside of the hdd. it doesnt serve any purpose it just covers up some of the disk or something

hdd is working find anyways so whatever

I know what tape you're talking about, but when I swapped my drive there was no tape. My MBP has always worked perfectly fine. You need not worry.
