I intend to record classical guitar onto a new MacBook Pro (10.6.7) with Audacity. I am on a no-nonsense budget and my recordings are intended for my own use and to distribute CDs to a few friends and family.
Having researched, got confused, and researched again I was going to go with
Mic: Rode NT1a
Interface: M-Audio Fast Track Pro Sound card
I chose this interface as it is an improvement on my MacBook soundcard and offers phantom power/preamp for the microphone.
My question is whether there is anything glaringly wrong with this rather simple chain that I am not aware of? Is there an obvious weak link that would make this choice ineffective?
Many thanks in advance
